Homily

Neeya? (transl. You?) is a 1979 Indian Tamil-language horror film, directed by Durai and starring Kamal Haasan. It is a remake of the 1976 Hindi-language film Nagin.[1]Neeya is about an Ichadhari snake (Sripriya), who avenges the death of her beloved (Chandra Mohan). Kamal Haasan plays a factionalized version of himself, who does research on snakes. The movie was a huge hit at the box office.[2]

The male lead role was first offered to Rajinikanth, he turned down offer as he wanted to work on solo hero scripts, later Kamal Haasan took the role for his friendship with Sripriya, who was also the producer of the movie.

Neeya is followed by two sequels: Naane Varuven[2] and Neeya 2.[3]

Plot[edit]

Kamal, along with his group of friends: Vijayakumar, Srikanth, Jaiganesh and Ravichandran go to a forest. Kamal is a researcher who studies the behaviour of snakes, including the Ichadhari, a rare kind of snake which can take humanoid form. One of his friends kills a serpent, (Chandra Mohan) despite the intervention of Kamal. Initially, all the other friends ignore Kamal without knowing the seriousness of the issue. They left the village, while the female serpent Naaga Rani (Sripriya) vows to avenge the death of her beloved, Naaga Raja. She kills all five friends of Kamal in disguise in some instances and at the end, she disguises herself as Latha (Kamal's love interest) in order to kill him. In the end, Rani is killed and Kamal reunites with Latha and the child of Srikanth.

Kings of Comedy Juniors (Tamil: கிங்ஸ் ஆப் காமெடி ஜூனியர்ஸ்) is a 2017-2018 Indian Tamil language stand-up comedy reality television show, which airs on Vijay TV.

Kana Kaanum Kaalangal (Tamil: கனா காணும் காலங்கள்) was a 2006-2008 Tamildramasoap opera on weekdays on STAR Vijay. It is first Serial in Indian and Tamil Television to focus solely on adolescence and school life and became a trend setter and topped the TRP for Tamil serials. A sequel to the serial called Kana Kaanum Kaalangal Kallooriyin Kadhai has been made.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8] Later another sequel to the serial called Kana Kaanum Kalangal Kalloori Saalai was made, Both the sequels were focussed on college life. STAR Vijay conducted a talent search and students between 14 and 22 years were shortlisted and selected for the serial except Hemalatha and Ligeswaran who had prior acting experience all others were students who were acting for the first time with an emphasis to make as natural as possible with real life emphasis with actors using there natural language, slangs and make it very close to real school life.[9][10] It is also being re-aired on STAR Vijay Super since 16 January 2017, Monday through Friday at 8:00PM (IST).

Kings of Comedy Juniors (Tamil: கிங்ஸ் ஆப் காமெடி ஜூனியர்ஸ்) is a 2017-2018 Indian Tamil language stand-up comedy reality television show, which airs on Vijay TV.

The second season started from 28 July 2018 and 24 November 2018 airs every Saturday and Sunday at 19:00 (IST). The judges are stand-up comedian and comedy actor Robo Shankar, TV actress Vani Bhojan and TV anchor Erode Mahesh.

Kana Kaanum Kaalangal (Tamil: கனா காணும் காலங்கள்) was a 2006-2008 Tamildramasoap opera on weekdays on STAR Vijay. It is first Serial in Indian and Tamil Television to focus solely on adolescence and school life and became a trend setter and topped the TRP for Tamil serials. A sequel to the serial called Kana Kaanum Kaalangal Kallooriyin Kadhai has been made.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8] Later another sequel to the serial called Kana Kaanum Kalangal Kalloori Saalai was made, Both the sequels were focussed on college life. STAR Vijay conducted a talent search and students between 14 and 22 years were shortlisted and selected for the serial except Hemalatha and Ligeswaran who had prior acting experience all others were students who were acting for the first time with an emphasis to make as natural as possible with real life emphasis with actors using there natural language, slangs and make it very close to real school life.[9][10] It is also being re-aired on STAR Vijay Super since 16 January 2017, Monday through Friday at 8:00PM (IST).
